We greatly thank him for his enthusiasm to educate high school students and his invaluable experience in phage research.Īfter discussion with the engineer Huang, Cheng-Yi who works at the FabLab in Mingdao High School, he helped us specifically for the hardware design. He helped us build up a phage engineering system in our lab and guided us setting up standard protocols to deal with phages.

He had provided phages and taught us how to isolate phages against a specific bacterial strain in nature. Hung is a professor at Department of Chemical Engineering of I-Shou University. We greatly thank him for safety concerns and comments in developing a Salmonella phage detector. He had provided Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium LT2 and guided us how to manipulate a bacterium at Biosafety Level 2. Huang is a professor at Department of Biomedical Sciences of Chung Shan Medical University. We greatly thank him and his doctoral students for being our supervisors in performing Salmonella related experiments in a P2 lab. He had provided lab space at Biosafety Level 2 for Mingdao iGEM teams for many years. Jan is a professor at Department of Microbiology and Immunology of Chung Shan Medical University. We thank her for giving precious advice about doing research studies and our iGEM project. In addition, she went with us to visit professors and experts in the field of bacteriophage and pathogen diagnosis around Taiwan. She helped us build up an in vitro transcription-translation (TXTL) system. She is our second PI who is in charge of the school affairs for the whole process of iGEM competition in our school. Teacher Hsieh is a biology teacher at Mingdao High School with expertise in protein engineering and expression/purification systems. We thank him for everything this year in iGEM competition, in which he was always accompanying us in brainstorming, designing, performing and trouble-shooting experiments. As a PI, he taught the right attitude in laboratory safety training and general skills in a molecular biology lab. He has been promoting and leading iGEM since 2014. Chen is a biology teacher at Mingdao High School teaching molecular biology and genetic engineering.
